Gwinnett Voters Overwhelmingly Approve
General Obligation Bond for Schools

Thanks to overwhelming voter support on the February 5th General Obligation Bond referendum, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) will be able to continue to move students out of trailers and into classrooms!

The bonds will allow GCPS to build eight new schools, add additions to 10 existing schools, purchase land for future school sites, make system-wide infrastructure improvements and upgrade technology.

As the state's largest school system, GCPS continues to grow dramatically each year -- by 4,000 students in 2007-08 alone.  For parents and businesses alike, Gwinnett is the county of choice for many reasons, including a top-notch school system and unwavering community support.  GCPS truly provides students with a quality education of which we all are proud.

On behalf of Gwinnett's 155,000 students, their parents, their teachers and all of our volunteers, thank you for your support and for demonstrating once again that "Gwinnett Kids Count!"

Mike Levengood, Chair
